Hatesphere: The sickness within

04/09/05  ||  Lord K Philipson

Fucken Hatesphere’s always been sending me their albums, for which I’m thankful. I even think I made a nice little rant about how much I love vocalist Jacob for doing it in my last review (find it yourself). Yet to this day it puzzles me why the fuck I haven’t conducted an interview with them for… That’s just fucked up since they deserve to be on GD in full-scale. We’ll see if I ever get to it. The only release by these Danes that I have been sent and didn’t review (yet) is their “The Killing EP”, which is just completely fucked up as well since that fucken thing completely destroyed. Definitely the guys’ best effort.

Until now.

You could basically take any of my older reviews of Hatesphere and apply them to this one with a few new adjectives added.

Hatesphere don’t deny themselves, they are in it for the fucken THRASH, fucko’s. These guys could possibly be one of the most interesting thrashers around these days. It’s bands like Hatesphere that should set the standard for old fucken cocksuckers like Nuclear Assault and whatnot who decides to reform and release albums consiting of nothing but cum. If you can’t do it better than these guys, don’t do it at fucken all.

Let Hatesphere be a lesson.

It probably won’t get much more well-executed than what these guys do. The musicianship is nothing short of excellent. Jacob’s vocals are magnificent (but I do wish he used his lower growls more often since those are real fucken fine) and full of piss and vinegar. The catchy riffing is displayed all over the place, with neatly weaved in guitar-solos that just adds to the shit instead of just being there, as in most cases with metal bands.

Much like with the musicianship of these guys, the production is fucken flawless. There’s a good amount of power in this piece, that’s for sure. It’s a quality-release in every fucken aspect and Hatesphere should really be bigger than what they are. I know I said this the last time as well, and I still stand by that statement. Hatesphere pisses on the competition when it comes to today’s “new” thrashers. Give them a fucken tour with Exodus (who basically are the only fuckers who managed to release something killer with “Tempo of the damned” when it comes to the old farts) and people will be aware of the force that is fucken Hatesphere.

“Murderous Intent” was featured on “The Killing EP” and that is the best song these guys ever wrote. Just so you know.

I raise my glass, guys. You have done very fucken well and the score is well-deserved.

8 gallons of piss on Nuclear Assault out of 10.
